Mr. McElroy has 14 years of progressively responsible experience managing and designing civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, and construction quality assurance/quality control projects.
He has been responsible for both structural and non-structural plan review, geotechnical design and troubleshooting, materials evaluations, special inspection, and materials testing. Mr. McElroy has provided Value Engineering services for design on numerous structures. His experience with plan and specification review, and third party review of design, includes projects for commercial, industrial, and municipal structures.
Mr. McElroy is well versed with UBC and IBC code requirements, and the Washington State Amendments to the code. He is also well versed with all WSDOT specifications, having formerly served as Construction Quality Assurance Manager for the I-5 HOV Expansion Project in Everett, Washington.
Mr. McElroy’s areas of expertise include soils and aggregates, including wet weather conditions and amendments; asphalt and Portland cement concrete pavements; masonry; reinforced concrete; structural steel; fireproofing; and coatings.
